Mosasaurus tooth

The Mesozoic era was a time when formidable predatory reptiles inhabited the seas of our planet. Their adaptation to water was perfect. Having forever broken the connection with land, they became excellent warm-blooded swimmers and gained the ability to give birth. One example of such reptiles was sea dragon-like mosasaurs. Appearing already at the end of the Cretaceous period, they became the most dangerous inhabitants of the ocean.

The preserved teeth demonstrate the strength and power of these lizards: conical shape, sharp edges from tip to base. Mosasaur teeth are a great tool for crushing turtle shells and biting sharks in half.
