Description
Ichthyosaurs are marine reptiles that look like fish or dolphins. They are one of the most famous inhabitants of the seas of the Mesozoic era. Whole ichthyosaur skeletons are relatively rare, with individual elements such as this spine being much more common.
A fragment of the spine consists of 7 whole vertebrae. The biconcave shape of the vertebrae is noteworthy. This structure makes them look like the vertebrae of fish. The preservation of the vertebrae is good, you can see different elements of the structure.
A tile with a fragment of an ichthyosaur spine is an excellent acquisition for a private collection or a museum. It can also be used as an unusual interior object.
