Ammonite Cleoniceras sp.

Ammonite of the genus Cleoniceras belongs to cephalopods that lived in the warm seas of the Cretaceous period throughout the planet. The remains of these mollusks in the form of fossilized shells are found in different places, and Madagascar specimens are considered one of the most beautiful.

The paddle lines form the pattern on the surface of the shell. In these parts of the surface, internal cavities were connected to the outer walls of the ammonite shell. The shell is mostly replaced by calcite, which has a warm, pleasant color.
