Description
Harpactocarcinus is part of the extinct family Zanthopsidae, known since the Paleocene. The earliest members of this family were roaming coastal shoals several million years after the dinosaurs had disappeared.
The preservation of the crab is excellent. Carapax, powerful claws, thin legs, everything is in place. Even the crustacean's eyes are preserved. On the surface of the carapace and claws you can see the relief of small bumps. This unique and fragile fossil will delight any collector, and will look great in the interior next to marine-themed items.
