Description
Ammonites of the genus Cleoniceras are one of the most popular collectibles. These fossils are valued for their harmonious shell proportions and variety of coloration. The color spectrum depends on the conditions in which the mineralization took place, that is why one glance is often enough to determine the place of discovery. Madagascar ammonite specimens are of particular value. Among them quite rare black-brown specimens stand out.
Longitudinal saw cuts of ammonite shells allow you to enjoy the beauty of their internal structure to the fullest. Each cavity of the ammonite shell became a geode filled with light beige calcite crystals. They contrast with the mineral layer of a dark, almost black color, which is replaced by white interlayers at the junctions between the shell divisions.
